Are calls made over the Internet?

When you click to initiate a call the "click" travels over the Intenet however the actual phone calls are made on regular telephone lines to provide excellent voice quality on every call. In this way we use the best of both worlds.

Do I need Voice over Internet equipment?

No - you don't need any special equipment, just your regular phone.

What is a browser plugin?

A plugin is a small module that is added onto your standard browser to give it extra functionality.

How do I install the plugin?

When logged into the Pep-Talk Everywhere portal go to the tab called Dialer > click on Firefox Plugin > check the terms and conditions box > click on Install now in the web page > click on install now in the dialogue box > restart browser.

How do I Uninstall the plugin?

In Firefox browser go to tools > Add-ons > select PepTalk and click on uninstall, confirm the uninstall, and restart the browser.

How do I upgrade the plugin?

In Firefox browser go to tools > Add-ons > select PepTalk and click on Find Updates. If a new update is available it will ask you to now restart your browser.

What browsers work with the Pep-Talk plugin?

The Plugin currently works with Mozilla Firefox on PC. Internet Explorer and other browsers will be supported in the very near future. Meanwhile you can download Firefox free of charge here and run both IE and Firefox together on your same PC.

How do I manage my Pep-Talk functions?

When you join Pep-Talk we provide a login to a browser portal where you can make calls on the web dialer, manage your phone numbers and country zone, check your call records and process a credit card top up. Once you have down loaded the plugin you will also find a helpful menu in your browser toolbar to login/out, toggle the Pep-Talk function on/off and save your favourite phone numbers.

Are there any short cut Access Keys?

Absolutely yes. Access keys are ideal for people who prefer key board functions instead of clicking on drop-down menus. The full list is available in your browser toolbar at Tools > Pep-Talk.
Note the underlined letter denotes the Access Key.
Examples:
Alt t = brings up the tool menu, then Alt t again for the Pep-Talk menu.
i = Login
o = Logout
s = Settings
h = History
a = Add Pep-Talk bookmark
b = Bookmarks

When are audio greeting messages played over the phone?

Audio is only played when using the 3 free calls offer on the home page. Once you have joined Pep-Talk Everywhere, audio is not played. This may change in the future.

Will Pep-Talk remember my phone number settings each day?

Yes, unless you have set your browser to clear your cookies. If you want Pep-Talk to remember you phone settings each day then in the browser toolbar go to Tools > Options > Privacy, then 1) check the box 'Accept cookies from sites', and 2) select the option Keep until 'they expire'.
